Sometimes we tell lies to the people who are closest to us. Sometimes we tell lies to ourselves.
We need to remember that we are all broken people. The only difference is what it is that breaks us. You might be broken by addiction. You might be broken by depression or anxiety, or both. You might be broken by an eating disorder. You might be broken by stress. You might be broken by your past. You might be broken… you probably are.
Don’t let the brokenness become something that consumes your life. It’s a very powerful force, but not so powerful that you can’t conquer it (with help). My help is Jesus Christ. I am affected by my brokenness on a daily basis, multiple times a day. I have to turn to my savior for help. Sometimes it feels as if he’s too far away, but other times it feels like he’s standing right beside me, ready to fight. And he helps me fight these battles.
Sometimes the help you need is just knowing you’re not alone. But you have to let others know that you’re struggling so that they can come and stand beside you. So please, stop telling lies. You don’t have to be OK. Because, really, none of us would be without Christ.
